Bhajans / Kirtan ( chanting )
Bhakti Yoga - Love purely for loves sake, the innate nature of all beings.Kirtan is the singing / chanting of the Divine's name with devotion (bhava), love (prem) and faith (shraddha). Usually known as Bhajans in most parts of India - like minded people coming together collectively with an accompaniment of musical instruments such as harmonium, cymbals, drums etc. In this current world age of Kali Yuga, Kirtan is said to be the easiest, surest and quickest means to Divine - realisation. Sanskrit, the most ancient of human languages, is known as Devanagari, literally ' language of the gods'. Made up of root sounds, actual vibrations arising within the universe and oneself. Sound, made up of such vibrations, is pure energy (shakti) and released into the subtle channels (nadis) has the ability to purify mind, open the heart and generate harmony and Divine love.
At Sydney's Dharma Shala Bondi Yoga School we gather once a month with local devotee Edo who leads our Bhajans / Kirtans, along with special guests. These take place on the last Sunday of each month after class 5.30pm our next gathering Sunday Free to all, come along xxx
